Villa Bonita Reviews

The villa was as good as the web site described it. It is a great place to just lie back and relax and enjoy. Gibraltar, Granada, the Alhambra and Rhona are great days out. Restaurants in walking distance are limited but are quite passable. We all really enjoyed Max Beach. Nights in with the BBQ are a real treat (no risk of showers in August - unlike England!)Handover arrangements were straight forward with friendly villa manager. I would certainly recommend this villa. We were a mixed group of teenagers, parents and grandparents.

Great place to spend your holiday, pictures are very accurate. Well equipped and maintained to high standard. Cleaning service very good and manager on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly for you. We would certainly recommend to friends.

The villa lived up to the description, clean, quiet location, good to be able to walk to local restaurants of differing grades.
Spread over 2 floors it had a very spacious feel and suited young and older folk alike. Easy days out to Mijas and Marbella for example. English spoken almost everywhere and locals very friendly. Would recommend this villa for a relaxing atmosphere (and constant sun helped!)

Its all you want in a traditional Spanish Villa. With its superb pool and well established gardens we were delighted to book another week next year.

We - a family of three generations - spent two wonderful weeks in this lovely villa in quiet environments. The children loved the heated pool! An efficient team of cleaners came to the house several times a week, and the nice house manager gave us advices about where to go and what to see. It is a 10 minute walk to the nearest supermarket and beach. Renting a car is recommended for families with children. A great place. The owner provided very good service all the way.

We absolutely had a ball in your villa. It was stunning and everyone from kids to grandparents enjoyed it immensely! We have been in the same area now for four years and found the villa ideally placed for a stroll into the beautiful La Cala whether via the beach or road! We especially enjoyed the beautiful decor and the space meaning none of us got in each others way and could all have a relaxing holiday in the beautiful surroundings!
To be honest it is the first place we’ve stayed that we would definitely consider a return trip for ourselves and will definitely pass the word and brochure round that you were kind enough to send us!

Stayed for a week, two families of four, secluded but within walking distance of beaches and shops. High quality villa, has heated pool, pool table, table tennis. Great for a relaxing break. Property owners and local manager very helpful. Will go back. Excellent.

We've just returned from two fabulous weeks at Villa Bonita in La Cala de Mijas. The weather was fantastic, the villa is really well located - easy walking distance to a supermarket, beach and a whole host of restaurants. For even more excitement, La Cala is close enough to walk to, even with fairly young children. The pool was amazing and just the right temperature - the children could stay in it all day but it was still cool enough to be refreshing when taking a dip from the hot sun. There was plenty of space, it was well equipped and had the added benefit of two bedrooms downstairs and two upstairs - giving the two families extra privacy. We will definitely think about rebooking and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property, the transfer company and the efficiency of the owners.

We were a family of six including grandparents, this is the second time we have been to your villas and the holidays get better each time we visit. The kids loved the heated pool, couldn't get them out once in, must admit we were the same as the temp was hitting the 40's while we were there. Peter was as helpful as ever, very nice chap. The villa itself is even better in the flesh, the balcony was wonderful in the early evening for meal times and great at night for just relaxing. The bathrooms were great as was the bedrooms, we just couldn't fault the place. We are very much looking forward to coming back as it was one of the best holidays we have had. Many thanks to you all once again for having a lovely place for us to stay.

Just got back from an amazing week away with family & partners. Villa Bonita exceeded all expectations with everything there you could possibly need for an all round holiday whether it be lazing by the pool or evenings using the bbq and sitting on the huge balcony chatting. The layout of the Viol made it ideal for 3 adult couples & a 2 year old which gave everybody their own space if they wanted it.

We didn't hire a car but used the excellent transfer del sol company but didn't feel that we missed out as there is everything you need within walking distance. We found an excellent restaurant in La Cala de Mijas & supermarket there is great too. Used the bus service which was good when we did venture further a field but you really have got the best of all worlds with this place and we had a fantastic holiday. We'll be back!!!

Absolutely gorgeous villa - very private and amazing in every way! We came 6 girls for a relaxing girlie holiday and it was perfect - barbecue, lovely meals on the balcony. The supermarket is really handy and stocks pretty much everything - fab butchers and fruit and veg. We had some lovely meals out in Marbella town centre - taxi was about 35 euros per car and the bus was nice and easy. Peter is an absolute legend and thanks to him we managed to see the local market. The villa is also a short cab ride away from the racecourse which is a fab experience. Will definitely be back :-)

Absolutely lovely. Really spacious, well maintained - the perfect place to relax. Definitely, one of the nicer villas I have stayed in. The welcome pack was a nice gesture - we particularly like the wine! The villa was a 10 minute walk to a couple of restaurants and a supermarket. La Cala was a 30 minute walk away but if that seems like hardwork, there is a taxi rank at the end of the road which takes you in to the centre for 6 euros.

We are a family from Sweden who stayed for one week in this lovely house and it turned out to be above our expectations! The size of the house was perfect for 3 couples and 2 children where we all had our own room with bathroom. We really liked the layout of the house with the top floor veranda with dining table and the pool as natural gathering points. The pool was amazing, bigger than we expected from the pictures, in fact the whole house was even better in reality! The weather was great 22-28 during the whole week, we really got to use the pool which had a pleasant temperature of around 28. The kids loved it! The house is located in a very calm neighbourhood, only a 10-15 min walk from the very centre of town. La Cala de Mijas is a pretty little town located right by the sea. When we did not cook or barbecued at the villa, we only had to take a 5 min walk from the house where you could find a few different restaurants. Our favourite was the newly opened "Beachfront restaurant" which had really good food, entertainment and beautiful interior! The beach is also a 5 min walk from the house and on the way you will pass the small local supermarket which have everything you need, great vegetables, fruit, meat and wine. The beach was beautiful with clear blue water, not to warm yet...even though it was very hot lying on the beach or a sunchair which you can rent. One evening we went to the nearby town Fuengirola which had a lot of shopping and nice restaurants. We also went on a daytrip to Gibraltar by bus which was easy to book in the centre of town. There is a lot to do in and around Mijas, being there for only one week we would love to go back and see more! We did not rent a car during our stay and everything worked out perfectly well. We would not hesitate to go back to this beautiful villa, we had a great vacation, being the first time in Costa del Sol! Renting a house abroad for the first time everything worked out really well, the manager of the house was being very helpful. Our family had a great time in Spain and can really recommend to rent this gorgeous villa!

We had a great time in this villa big verandas great pool and a charcoal BBQ made staying in an absolute pleasure. Pool is heated and very private. Kids and adults enjoyed the table tennis and pool table, Walk to the beach supermarket and several restaurants within 5 mins. India Lucia is excellent. Bus stop very convenient for trips to Fuengirolla and Marbella. Kids will love Amazon Adventure in Elveria. Try Pedros restaurant in La Cala just off main street.

We were two families that spent one week at Villa Bonita. Enjoyed the villa, the pool and the beach nearby. The grocery store down the street had all the things we needed, and we would like to recommend the restaurant next to steve´s bar. Best steak we´ve ever tasted :-) With cloudy weather and 10 Celsius in Norway we want to go back soon!!

A superb villa , to spend family holidays, ideal for 2 adults and 4 children or even teens plenty to be happy because the pool between the pool and the tennis day is not long enough .... near the sea 15 minutes walk , supermarket ( lidl ) close enough. The cleanliness of the villa is impeccable and we will not forget Raffa, essential for the maintenance of the villa hosts to have so that vacationers enjoy their stay . There is excellent sightseeing to do around (Mijas , Marbella , Malaga, Ronda ... ) We hope to return .... Thank you ...

This is an immaculately clean and well maintained villa. As we went for a relaxing family holiday we particularly enjoyed the fabulous pool and terrace area that kept the sun all day. The table tennis and pool table were an added bonus. We were impressed with the mid week maid service, to clean the villa and provide fresh towels and bed linen. We used the airport transfer company recommended on the website and found them excellent as were the local taxis always reliable and friendly. We also found a gem of a restaurant, El Olivo at de La Cala and ate there on a number of occasions, would definitely recommend. This outstanding Villa is a credit to its owners and we look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely villa, relaxing and peaceful setting
To start with I must say the communication between myself and the property owner was very good. Marie had been most helpful and always quick to respond to any questions/queries I had with the holiday.

The Villa - We were pleasantly suprised when we arrived at Villa Bonita, I could tell what the standard of the property was going to be like on arrival at first sight of the beautiful property. As the big electric gates slid back and the kids saw the villa, the pool, pool table and table tennis - their excitement began!! From that moment on we lost them to the amenities provided and they thoroughly enjoyed their week stay. My children have become so water confident and it was hard to get them to actually leave the villa each day!
The villa was very large, well kept both inside and out, and very clean. My family had the downstairs bedrooms and the room was huge - and the bathroom lovely and big - with a very large bath! It was lovely having doors which opened up to the garden and pool.
The grounds were lovely and we also made use of the bbq area one evening - sitting outside in the mild weather on the terrace.
Local shop - the local shop was less than a 10 minute walk for adults, but maybe 15 if you have very young children. Its mainly a down hill walk. The supermarket staff were friendly enough - and even offered us a lift back up to the villa when we had bought our initial shop to get us started! The shop had lots to offer, but as others mentioned - there is also a larger supermarket in La Cala.
The beach - this was a couple minutes from the local shop, and was lovely. At the moment they are building a long wooden pathway along the back of it to enable long walks by the sea.
LA Cala - A taxi to La Cala from the villa was 6 euros during the week, and 8 at the weekend, which was a fair price - and were always very quick to arrive at the villa from the phone call. There are many places to eat there, with a varied choice of food establishments.
The children also went horse riding in La Cala which they enjoyed. My children are 3 and 6 years and we were allowed to lead by reigns around the ranch and its grounds/arena for half hour (which was ample for them).
Fuengirola -We popped to Fuengirola a couple of times to eat and sight see- and I recommend the Zoo if you have little ones.. Its not massive but i found their to be lots to see to keep them amused.

Overall - Lovely Villa, nice and relaxing, lovely weather - hitting 25 degrees.

Fabulous Villa + Great Location = Happy Holidays

We were a party of six, Mam & Dad (me), 2 kids (6/4) and the in-laws, and this was our fourth year running on the Mijas Costa. Our three previous holidays have been right in the heart of La Cala, just back from the beach on Calle de Reina Fabiola, an absolutely magnificent villa which we loved, but was becoming ever more expensive so we very reluctantly made the decision to try somewhere new in 2015.
The decision to choose this Villa was based on the fact that it is close enough to La Cala that a car isnt necessary. We knew that it was a short walk to the beach at Bombo (excellent) and then a pleasant stroll into La Cala centre, especially now they have built the boardwalk. We knew very little about the immediate area and what it had to offer, like I say, we thought we would just be using the Villa as a base to return to our favourite places from previous holidays. We were wrong, we spent almost all of our holiday in Torre Nueva.
Bonita is the last-but-one villa on a dead end street, so there is no passing people or traffic, in fact we only bumped into the neighbours twice in a week. Its a lovely, peaceful, relaxing setting. The Villa itself is fab, even better in real life than on the photos. As I said earlier, we were a party of six, and it felt very spacious, so much room to sunbathe, heated pool, and when I say heated I really mean heated, which when you have small children is such a bonus, no chattering teeth on this holiday. The weather was so hot we really appreciated the shaded areas underneath the arches, a lovely cool(er) refuge, far better than a brolly.
Inside the Villa is immaculate, spacious, spotless, comfortable yet still retaining a homely feel. The TV worked, which was ideal for the kids to chill and watch CBeebies for a break from the pool. We had absolutely no complaints whatsoever about the internal space at all, but its the outside space that makes this Villa what it is. Ive been in hotels with less space around the pool, throw in the gas barbeque and the fruit trees in the garden, sun from dawn till dusk, peace, quiet (apart from my kids), its just blissful.
A 7-8m walk down Av de Rota brings you to a Supermarket, with superb butcher, also two tremendous restaurants, The Blue Marlin & Las Llaves (see tripadvisor, Mrs&MrC review) and a great little bar, Steves Bar. We ended up in La Cala once, we simply just loved it here, and 100% we will return.
Great Villa, magical holiday, thank you to the Jordan's and Rafa

Fantastic Villa
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

This villa is kept beautifully clean, both inside and out. The facilities are great for families of all ages, and the pool is an absolute winner for children as it is heated. It is ideally laid out for two separate families to stay with their own space. Pool towels save on luggage space! The extra facilities of the pool and table tennis table add for extra things to do. The TV is also good for getting young ones out of the sun. There is a lovely shaded area beside the pool if the sun get too much. Location is fantastic, there is a great bar, Steve's bar to walk to and several restaurants in the same area, all offering great food. I highly recommend a stay here. We have returned many times over the years and will continue to do so.

Fantastic villa

Can't say enough nice things about this villa.
The owners have thought of everything to make your stay totally enjoyable - they've even provided towels for the ample sun loungers. The villa itself is bright, spacious and comfortable and the outside space is second to none! We were able to lounge around the poolside whilst our six month old granddaughter was protected in the shade, yet still with us.
Supermarket in both directions from the villa and within a short 7 minute walk. The beach is just a couple of minutes further on but to be honest, we spent most of our days relaxing around the pool. There is a table tennis and a pool table for family fun and numerous English TV channels should the weather let you down!
I was delighted with our choice - a fab villa and great holiday guaranteed and we are planning to return again next year .
